The PASS Matisse 2013

Within the context of Nice 2013. A Summer for Matisse, a “museum PASS” has been set up, giving access to the whole event and to the permanent collections.

PASS for 10 € total and inclusive price, valid for 7 consecutive days, giving entry to the following museums:
* Musée Matisse
* Palais Lascaris
* Musée des Beaux-Arts
* Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain (MAMAC)
* Musée d’archéologie
* Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image
* Musée Masséna
* Galerie des Ponchettes

Free entrance

Entry is free for:
* families: children under 18,
* job seekers (monthly proof) and those receiving RSA or ASS allowances , minimum old age pension (proof required)
* the seriously disabled and war wounded (with one carer per person)
* young people under 18
* students (proof required)

Despite the fact that this is a paying event, the City of Nice, in accordance with the principle of cultural democratisation adopted by its museums in 2008 by ensuring free access, entry will be free on:

- the 3 days following inauguration, that is Friday 21 June, Saturday 22 June and Sunday 23 June 2013;

- the last Sunday of every month that is 30 June, 28 July, 25 August and 22 September 2013 (the last Sunday before the end of the event)

- the weekend of European Heritage Days, that is Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2013

- evenings until 10 pm open to the public on the evening of the Fête de la Musique, 21 June 2013 and the Saturday evening of the Heritage Days on 14 September 2013

- Guided visits for individuals: 5 €
- Guided visits for adult groups, must be booked: 80 €

guided visits for individuals on Fridays at 3 pm
* Musée des Beaux-Arts :
guided visits for individuals on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm
* Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain (MAMAC) :
guided visits for individuals on Wednesdays at 3 pm
* Musée d’Archéologie :
guided visits for individuals on Wednesdays at 3 pm
* Musée Masséna :
guided visits for individuals on Fridays at 3 pm.

The places where Matisse lived


A. In December 1917, Matisse occupied a room in
the Hôtel Beau-Rivage. He set up his studio
a few metres from there, on the quai des États-Unis.

B. In May 1918, Matisse rented the villa des Alliés, boulevard
du Mont-Boron.

C. In autumn 1918, he stayed at the Hôtel de la Méditerranée

D. From 1921 to 1938, Matisse rented an apartment
